Farmers in the region around Pakkoku are now preparing to grow post-rainy season crops such as groundnut and sesame but they are struggling with higher agricultural inputs prices.

The farmers are weighing on the profit margin against the costs of agricultural inputs as prices of fertilizers, weedicides, and other agricultural inputs have doubled.

Farmers in Pakkoku areas grew groundnut and mung bean in early monsoon seas but were struck by fewer rains in May and June causing the fields less successful.
