British Chamber of Commerce announced that the United Kingdom, which has been importing Hass avocado from Myanmar, has offered to buy 200,000 grams or ten containers of avocado per month.
The first export of Myanmar avocado, as a trial run, was shipped to England in September 2020 and was successful while the second shipment was planned to ship in February this year but failed due to the political situation.
Due to the political situation, the avocado packaging plant project in Southern Shan State, and the konjac processing plant project in Southern Chin State were also postponed while plans to export avocados and gingers to the UK and muskmelon to the EU was scrapped.
